2 men killed after motorcycle crashes into Volkswagen in St. Johns County

Two men were killed after a motorcycle crashed into a Volkswagen and caused both to overturn in St. Johns County on Monday.

Troopers said Oliver Rollins, 24, was driving a motorcycle on State Road 207 near Hastings Road just before 7 p.m. when he hit a Volkswagen Jetta.

Troopers believe Rollins was traveling at high speed before he hit the Jetta and caused it to flip, troopers said.

Steven Canard, 55, was ejected from the Jetta, which landed on its roof. Canard was not wearing a seatbelt, troopers said.

Rollins was thrown from the motorcycle and over the top of the Jetta.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
