2 killed in Northwest Jacksonville shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man and woman were killed in a shooting Friday in Northwest Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded at about 7:45 a.m. to the shooting on Dekle Avenue and New Kings Road.

JSO said the man was shot and killed. A woman, who is believed to be in her 30s, was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where she later died.

Police said everyone inside the neighborhood is accounted for, so it appears those involved didn’t live in the area.

No weapons were found at the scene.

It does not appear the two shot each other, JSO said. Police believe there is a suspect at large, but there is no suspect information or motive for the shooting.

Police are also searching for a white pickup truck in connection with the shooting. It is unknown if the truck has anything to do with the shooting.

JSO is continuing to investigate the double homicide.

Anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS. You can remain anonymous and receive a possible reward of up to $3,000.
