Age-progressed photo of missing Haleigh Cummings released

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — An age progression photo of missing Haleigh Cummings was released Thursday.

Haleigh was reported missing from her Satsuma home on Feb. 10, 2009. She was 5 years old at the time.

The photo depicts how she may appear today at the age of 12, according to authorities.

Haleigh’s disappearance is still an open investigation at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

“My office will not rest while trying to determine the whereabouts of Haleigh Cummings," Sheriff Jeff Hardy said. "We are still actively following up on any information we receive, and the investigation is continuing.”

Action News Jax sat down with Haleigh’s great-grandmother Annette Sykes and looked at the new photo of a girl she still has hope of seeing again.

“She smiled all the time...she was the happiest little girl,” Sykes said.

It’s been over six years since Sykes last saw her great-granddaughter, but she still has faith she’ll see her smile again.

“She's my flesh and blood ... And I'm looking for a live little girl,” Sykes said.

“She has Haleigh's eyes without a doubt,” Sykes said, looking at the age-progressed photo.

The same eyes and smile that Sykes remembers from the girl she said was so full of life.

“I remember her jumping in my lap and saying, 'Nanny, granny I love you.' Giving me hugs and kisses,” Sykes said.

Sykes told Action News Jax she now has stage 4 lung cancer and in the time she has left, she’d like to experience Haleigh’s love again.

“I'm begging whoever knows anything to please call the Sheriff’s Office. Cause I don't have long left and before I pass away, I'd like to know what happened to my baby,” Sykes said.

A plea to see her great-granddaughter just one more time.

“I wish this little Haleigh was here ... I'd love to get to know this Haleigh. I'd love to know what she's like now. What has she done all these years,” Sykes said.
