Best friend of missing UNF student recalls their last encounter

For the past three years, Markale Ford said he has lived with his best friend George Louissaint, but now it has been nearly three days since he last saw him.

"He never really said 'I’m leaving' or anything," Ford said.

Ford said they were at a party Saturday night and suddenly everything changed.

"We were just laughing and then you just go from laughing to something else. It's different from me being around him so much, there was a change," Ford said.

He said he doesn’t know what caused the change in emotion, but said he was trying to talk him through his personal issues.

"I was just trying to tough it out with him and that was it, he wasn't talking about much," Ford said.

And then Ford said he just left.

"If he told me he was leaving, I would have been there, I wouldn't have left him," Ford said.

Since then, Ford and his friends put flyers around campus and have been searching the city for Louissaint.
Close to 20 bodies of water and 13 square miles were searched by police Tuesday.

UNF police is asking for anyone with home surveillance from J. Turner Butler Boulevard to Beach Boulevard along Kernan Boulevard to check their video from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sunday for anyone matching Louissaint’s description.
