A woman has life-threatening injuries after fire rescue personnel spent 45 minutes extraditing her from a car after a car fire Saturday in Southside Jacksonville.
The accident happened near Beach Boulevard and Cortez Road.
Police said a white pickup truck crossed the median and hit a red SUV head-on. Police said the truck caught fire.
Three people were taken to the hospital. The woman in the SUV has life-threatening injuries and was taken to a medical center.
Investigators said the driver of the pickup truck showed signs of impairment and a blood alcohol kit was completed.
Some delays are expected due to the accident, fire rescue said.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said one eastbound lane on Beach Boulevard is open.
The investigation is ongoing.
