Chelsea Clinton comes to Jacksonville to campaign for her mother

The heat is on in the sunshine state at the GOP candidates prepare to take center stage.

Donald Trump leads the way into Thursday’s debate in Miami, but a new poll suggests Marco Rubio may be closing the gap with John Kasich and Ted Cruz holding on.

The Democrats also taking Florida by storm. Both Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are trying to get some traction with young voters, promising changes to higher education.

This comes as Clinton's daughter Chelsea reaches out to voters here in Jacksonville.

The push for education is just one of the calls Clinton’s daughter is using to connect with those headed to the polls. Chelsea Clinton has tackled issues including gun control and affordable higher education when talking to voters.

Chelsea Clinton says there are too many barriers between people. That's been a big part of her message on the campaign trail. Chelsea Clinton is expected to speak around 5:30 p.m. in Lakewood.

She has been campaigning for her mother across the country including at many college campuses. Her stop in Jacksonville is one several she’s making in Florida this week ahead of next week’s primary. Chelsea Clinton will also be in Tallahassee, Sarasota and St. Petersburg, campaigning ahead of the primary.

In addition to Florida, Ohio, North Carolina and Missouri will also be holding their primaries on Tuesday but Florida is the biggest get for the candidates, bringing in 246 delegates for the Democrats. Polls show Clinton is ahead of Sanders in Florida.
