City selects contractor to begin work to repair Jacksonville Beach Pier

A contractor has been selected as a design consultant for repairs to the Jacksonville Beach Pier, city officials tell Action News Jax.

A city spokesperson said RS&H was selected as the design consultant for repairs to the 350-foot section of the pier that was damaged during Hurricane Matthew.

City representatives have already met with RS&H to discuss the first phase, which is to review the storm damage and structure.

RS&H is developing a scope and fee for the phase, which will be submitted to the city for negotiation, a city spokesperson said.
