Couple offers reward after horse killed in Jacksonville

Mandy and Justin Harris revealed the graphic photos of their deceased horse that was shot in the head Friday night.

A couple is saying they'll stop shy of nothing to find the person who shot and killed their horse in Jacksonville's Oceanway area.

Mandy and Justin Harris revealed the graphic photos of their deceased horse that was shot in the head Friday night.

The couple said a crime scene unit from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office investigated the scene. They said the police told them the horse was likely shot with a high-powered rifle.

The couple said the rifle was probably fired in the direction of either Oceanway Village or The Gillespie Gardens sometime between 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The couple is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the person involved in the crime. The couple said to contact JSO with information at (904) 630-0500.
