St. Johns County Fire Rescue and St. Johns County Sheriff's Office crews and veterinarians provided aid to a horse that got stuck in the mud Thursday afternoon.
Action News Jax has learned that a horse was with its owner off of U.S. 1 when it slipped and fell and got stuck in the mud.
The horse is OK, and is out of the ditch, but is exhausted.
Crews shut down nearby train tracks and stopped a train from coming through during the rescue, which took about an hour and a half.
