Daily's Place amphitheater to open May 27

Jacksonville’s newest downtown entertainment is slated to open its doors in 10 days.

Daily’s Place is a nearly 6,000-seat amphitheater that will host concerts, festivals and events.

Chad Johnson, vice president of sales for the Jaguars and the operator of the amphitheater, said despite what it may look like, there is no doubt Daily’s Place will be ready on May 27.

“A lot of what you see behind us is temporary," Johnson said. "A lot of the structures will go away. We are at the finishing stages."

Johnson said they are able to get a lot of things done in a 24-hour period because crews are constantly working.

“Right now, we are running 22 hours a day. Ee’re running three shifts,” Johnson said.

Johnson said he is pleased with tickets sales. Dave Matthew’s Band on May 30 is already sold out.

“Seventy-five percent of the buyers for Daily’s Place are not currently buyers of Jaguars tickets," Johnson said. "So we are bringing in new people. New people from out of town, new people to downtown."
