Family and friends are remembering a Lakeshore teenager who was murdered down the street from his house.
Johnnie Carter, 15, was shot and killed down the street from his Vista Avenue home on July 6.
No arrests have been made in his death.
Dozens took part in a poker run Sunday to raise money for Carter’s family.
Erica Carter spoke to Action News Jax about her son’s murder and says she saw him hours before his body was found.
“Two and a half hours earlier, he was in my room telling me he loved me and turned my TV off for me,” she said.
Little information has come out in the case.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says Carter was involved in an altercation before he was murdered.
“There’s no leads, there’s nobody telling us anything, there’s nobody behind bars yet,” said Erica Carter. “He’s not getting the attention that a 15-year-old boy that was murdered a block from his house deserves to get.”
