Florida DUI suspect in golf cart asks officer, ‘Do we have to do this?'

A Florida woman was just trying to get her drink on at the community pool when she had more than just “some wine,” a deputy said.

Joyce Hellkamp Smith, 62, of The Villages, was at the pool before she started driving her golf cart home, according to Villages-News.com.

Smith reportedly was running over curbs, driving in front of oncoming traffic, and went off-roading in someone’s backyard, the Villages-News reported.

When a deputy arrived, a witness noticed the cart had leaves and sticks on the floor. Smith told the deputy that she drank “some wine” and asked, “Do we have to do this?” according to the Villages-News.

Smith failed field sobriety tests and a breath test showed her blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit of .08.

She was charged with driving under the influence.
