Four-year-old lends a helping hand in St. Augustine after Hurricane Matthew

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — When tragedy strikes the community, sometimes the biggest heroescome in small packages.

Caleb Calcano is your average 4-year-old, but if you ask his mom, Caleb has a heart that’s bigger than most.

Immediately after seeing the destruction caused by Hurricane Matthew, Caleb told his mom he wanted to help.

Last Saturday, with his father in tow, Caleb got to work clearing debris in the St. Augustine area.

“He was able to move some stuff around like leaves and branches," said his mother, Frances Diaz-Calcano. "Actually he was upset when it was time to leave, saying 'I’m not finished.'”

The child's work is not yet finished. Diaz-Calcano said he’ll be back out cleaning up the community this weekend.

Caleb says he can’t wait to continue making people happy.
