Freeze warning in effect for Jacksonville Monday morning

Parts of Jacksonville will be under a freeze warning early Monday morning and some areas could see temperatures in the 20s.

The freeze warning is in effect for inland areas from 3 a.m. – 8 a.m.

Lower to mid 30s are expected across Jacksonville and some areas well inland could see temperatures in the upper 20s.

Upper 30s to lower 40s are expected at the beaches.

Be sure to protect any sensitive plants if you live west of the St. Johns River.

The average first freeze for Jacksonville is Dec. 13.

Temperatures dropped to the mid 30s at Jacksonville International Airport on Sunday.

This weekend was the first time JIA has seen temperatures in the 30s since late last winter.

Monday will still be well below average with highs in the lower to mid 60s under abundant sunshine.

Some patchy frost is possible early on Tuesday with inland morning lows in the mid to upper 30s.
