Friend: Jordan Cooper's family 'consumed with grief' after her body found in Keystone Heights home

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies now suspect foul play in Jordan Cooper's disappearance.

On Saturday, her body was found in what investigators described as a “very concealed” area in the family’s home, two weeks after she was reported missing.

On Monday, Action News Jax spoke with the family’s spokesperson on the phone and asked questions about what may have happened to her.

“We understand that the community wants answers, we do, and the family wants answers as well, but they do not know any more than the community knows at this point,” the family friend said.

The family friend did say that Cooper lived alone, but couldn’t comment about the area of the home she was found in.

We’re told the family is asking for space as they work with detectives in Clay County to learn more about how Cooper died.

“Jordan’s cousins are hurting, the grandparents are hurting, everyone is consumed with grief because they don’t know what happened yet,” said the family friend.

We did ask the Sheriff’s Office if they have a suspect. They told us because the investigation is active, they couldn’t answer that question.
