JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Hate group propaganda is showing up in front of local homes -- many are reporting finding flyers from the National Socialist Movement in the San Jose area.
The Southern Poverty Law Center lists this group as the largest and most prominent neo-Nazi group in the United States.
The flyers show up in a plastic bag for neighbors to find on their front yard around a Jewish temple and this Jewish Community Center in the San Jose area.
“Its dark stuff, you figured it’s been 80 years since World War II; you think people would give up on that,” neighbor Jake Pearthree said.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said it is aware of neighbors’ concerns but they don't believe there is any specific threat. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said it is aware of neighbors concern but they don't belive there is any specific threat. - See more at: http://www.actionnewsjax.com/news/news/local/hate-group-responds-press-release/nmcs2/#sthash.R9E9wNJq.dpuf
A local rabbi says he keeps in contact with the FBI, and he says the feds are not aware of any direct threats made towards the local Jewish community.
A representative from the local National Socialist Movement says they will continue disbursing flyers and that it is their right to do so.
The National Socialist Movement put out a press release Sunday morning, saying people trying to associate a pro-white organization with World War II is inaccurate and misleading.
“Suggesting the National Socialist Movement is an organization of ‘hate’ that presents a threat to any ethnic group is insane,” the release said. “This public awareness campaign is part of a continuing effort to turn this tide, and stop white people from becoming America’s next minority.”
