Jacksonville Amazon jobs: Amazon to continue hosting job fairs

Latest: Jacksonville jobs: Amazon hiring fairs continue this week

Amazon will continue hosting job fairs for its Jacksonville fulfillment centers Friday and next week as originally planned.

The company canceled three hiring events next week because of overwhelming interest at the first two job fairs, but announced Friday morning they'd continue the fairs next week.

For the job fair Friday at the Legends Center at 5130 Soutel Drive, hundreds of people were anxiously waiting to try to get a job with Amazon. Some like Lawrence Sneed drove in from out of state to get a job.

"I missed Jacksonville, heard they were hiring and came back," Sneed said.

The Amazon hiring events for next week are listed here:

• Monday, July 17, at Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center, 1000 Water St;

• Wednesday, July 19, at Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center, 1000 Water St;

• Friday, July 21, at Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center, 1000 Water St.

Amazon is hiring for full-time jobs with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance and 401(k) and company stock awards.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or the equivalent.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply online at www.amazondelivers.jobs and be prepared for an on-the-spot interview.

Amazon is just part of Jacksonville’s healthy job market.

On Tuesday, we told you the Jaguars were hiring more than 1,000 part time positions for home games.

IKEA is also in the process of hiring 300 workers.

Florida Blue also announced they're hiring 600 temporary positions for the upcoming health insurance enrollment season.

Amazon’s Jacksonville locations will also be good for customers who live here. They say those who live in Northeast Florida could eventually get their packages delivered in a day.
