Some residents in an Arlington neighborhood are upset after they said one of their neighbors is allegedly running a pavement business out of his backyard.
The city's code Compliance Division said the home has received dozens of complaints including 28 zoning complaints dating back to 2008.
Monday we visited the block with the City Council Member Scott Wilson to take a look at the property that has prompted neighbors to complain.

Neighbors on Herndon Road in Arlington said a homeowner on their block, which is zoned residential, has been operating an alleged paving business on his property.
On Monday, we obtained pictures of paves and equipment still in the backyard.
We showed it to Wilson who said he was shocked by what he saw.
“Wow that’s a lot of activity, I don’t think anyone would want to live next door to that. That’s a lot of activity in a small yard,” Wilson said.
He said it’s not the first time that home has been brought to his attention.
“I have had concerns about a business being operated out of this house at this address,” Wilson said.

Once he received the complaints he then forwarded the information to the city for code compliance officials to investigate, but he says it’s still hard to prove what’s going on.
“The problem is it’s really hard to prove whether they are or are not operating a business because from the street level we cannot see the backyard and that’s where the business is apparently operating. We don’t have a right to go on their property without their permission so if we can’t see it from the street or right of way then we can’t do anything about it,” Wilson said.
Code enforcement officials are investigating, but city officials said it could take the city some time to resolve the issue.
