A Jacksonville family is stranded at a children’s hospital in Texas.
Yulia and Bradley Vina made the tough decision in April to pack up, leave behind family and friends in Jacksonville and head to Houston.
"We found out our daughter was diagnosed with spina bifida while in the womb," Bradley Vina said.
Spina bifida is a birth defect in which a baby's spinal cord fails to develop properly.
Vina said they have been in Houston since April 19, when Yuliana was born.
"The lifestyle here in the hospital has been a very aggressive lifestyle, dealing with the complications of our daughter’s health every day and how important to be by her bedside," Vina said.

As thousands in the Houston area evacuated ahead of Hurricane Harvey, Vina said they packed up what they could and have been at the Texas Children’s Hospital since Friday morning.
"You haven't been able to leave the medical center; any direction you go three blocks from the medical center is completely flooded," Vina said.
Vina took video of his new apartment after he walked three blocks through knee-deep water.
"Inside of the actual apartment, water was about five feet in there," Vina said.
Without a home or place to stay near the children’s hospital, Vina said they don’t know what they are going to do once their baby girl is finally able to leave the hospital in two weeks.
"We are definitely not the only ones that are going through a tough time," Vina said.
Right now, Vina said they have discussed moving back to Jacksonville after their daughter gets discharged from the hospital.
He said there is a spina bifida clinic here that would be able to treat their daughter.
