Original Story - August 1, 2017:

A Jacksonville man was arrested after he sexually assaulted three women, officials said.

Javon Collier, 34, was arrested July 26 and charged with sexual battery.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said two of the assaults happened in May of 2016.

An arrest report said a woman was walking down San Juan Avenue on May 7 when a man pulled up in a Chevy Impala and asked her if she needed a ride.

The report said he drove the victim to Murray Hill Park and dragged her to the restroom by her hair.

The report said he taped her hands and covered her mouth and then choked and raped her.

Another victim told JSO that she was walking along Wagner Road near New Kings Avenue on May 24 when she was pulled into a black Impala.

The report said the man took her to a dead end on Moncrief-Dinsmore Road and raped her.

The victim told police that the man had the name Javon on his shirt.

JSO said efforts to locate the third victim are ongoing.

Officers said based on the victims’ descriptions, Collier became their person of interest and was later arrested.
