Jacksonville man threatens police, tells them he 'kills people for a living'

A Jacksonville man was arrested after he tried to bribe and threatened to kill officers, according to a police report.

Craig Barnes, 25, was arrested Saturday outside Golden Rooster Bar & Grill.

According to a police report, an employee asked Barnes to leave several times but he refused.

Officer said they also asked him to leave but he ran  back inside because "he wanted his beer."

He refused to leave and was placed under arrest for trespassing.

While in the car, Barnes told police several times that he would pay both officers $50 to let him go.

The report says an officer asked Barnes if he was trying to bribe them and he said yes, and that he would give them $50 and buy them some donuts.

The report says Barnes became agitated and started kicking the seat. Officers said he then threatened to shoot them the next time he saw them on the streets.

He told them he has a .45 pistol and kills people for a living, according to the report.

Barnes tried bribing them again and offered each officer $1,000 if they released him.

His next court appearance is set for Oct. 31.
