Jacksonville officers: Man accused of church burglary linked to other incidents in custody

Tuesday Update: 

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced that the suspect in the burglary of a local Jacksonville church, Delonta Burrell, is in custody.

JSO said Burrell has been charged with the burglary of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Burrell has been charged with a total of nine burglaries since December:

01/25/2018 - Gastronome - 10734 Atlantic Boulevard
01/25/2018 - Ali Smoke Shop - 10724 Atlantic Boulevard
01/26/2018 - St. Joseph's Catholic Church - 11757 Old St. Augustine Road

Jacksonville officers said a man broke into and burglarized a Catholic church.

Police said the man broke a window at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Old St. Augustine Road on Tuesday at 5 a.m.

Police said he was after money and a safe.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was initially asking for help identifying the man, but said he has since been located.
