JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville police disciplined one of their own for the handling of the crash investigation of Jaguars running back Denard Robinson.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the responding officer filed an incomplete and misleading traffic crash report.
Officer Frank Camacho did not detail the efforts made by other officers and rescue personnel to determine that Robinson was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
Action News Jax reported over the summer Robinson driving and crashing into a retention pond at the intersection of Beach and Southside boulevards back in July. According to the initial report, Camacho wrote that the driver and the woman passenger were passed out inside the car.
Investigators said in part the way the original report was structured would "lead a reasonable person to believe that the driver in this incident was impaired."

It goes on to say that "the reputation of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was needlessly questioned and could have been prevented with a more detailed report."
On the night of the crash, it was determined that Robinson wasn't impaired, he fell asleep at the wheel. He was cited for careless driving and allowed to go.
The running back pleaded no contest to the charge and paid a $100 fine.
The document said it recommended the charge of failure to conform to work standards against Camacho.
