JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police are looking for the person who shot a 19-year-old several times at a busy Westside shopping plaza Thursday morning.
Police say the teen was shot outside O’Reilly Auto Parts off of Normandy Boulevard. Officers say that while the victim was shot multiple times, his injuries are non-life threatening. Officers say the suspects shot from a vehicle, but they don’t have a description of it or the suspects.
A witness told Action News Jax several people were on the ground taking cover after shots were fired. He also said the victim’s girlfriend and a child were in the car when the shooting happened.
A woman who frequently shops in this area said she’s surprised no one else was hurt, and is fed up with all the recent shootings.
“We are getting too many people hurt up, and they just need to stop, to stop it, stop the madness,” says Bobbye Bell.
It has been a week of violence in Duval County – 15 people shot in the last six days.
