Jacksonville police: Man, woman shot during home invasion robbery on the Northside

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says a man and woman were shot during a home-invasion robbery at a Northside home on Thursday night.

Investigators spent hours combing for evidence at a home in the 1300 block of Marsh Hen Drive, near Dunn Avenue and Biscayne Boulevard.

The two victims had to go to a hospital but they were able to describe their attacker, a masked man in a black jacket.

Neighbors noticed the heavy police presence Thursday night and were concerned Friday night that the gunman had not been arrested.

“To know that they’re on the loose, I wish they could get them and handle it. I like the safety for me and my wife,” said Billy Demps, who lives right down the street.

Demps said the victims just moved into the house and usually keep to themselves.

JSO’s crime map shows several other incidents in the area during the past month, but no other shootings.

Neighbors want it to stay that way and have a message for the gunman.

“I’m like, that’s messed up, you know, because this is a pretty good neighborhood. So now everybody has to be alert. To be honest, I hope they find y’all,” said J'Actrice Booker.
