Jacksonville students give 'EVAC' presentation at Harvard University

A group of local EVAC movement students presented at the Alumni of Color Conference at the Harvard Graduate School Education Annual.

The presentation aimed to teach educational leaders from around the country how to use the EVAC movement model. Using the model, according to the group, serves to empower at-risk youth to have their voices heard by local leaders on issues that concern them.

The EVAC movement, also known as Evacuating the Cave, was started by 15 students attending Robert E. Lee High School as a way to try to make a difference in their community. They started the movement as a way to help kids go from being at-risk to at-hope

Out of over 200 proposals submitted, the EVAC movement group was selected.
