Jacksonville woman injured in double shooting releases note from hospital bed

Lisa Rucker, one of two people who were shot by her sister's ex-boyfriend, released photos of her handwritten note that she wrote from her hospital bed. 

A Jacksonville woman who was injured in a deadly shooting released her handwritten letter about the shooting from her hospital bed on Friday.

Lisa Rucker and her sister were shot by her sister's ex-boyfriend, Chad Absher. Rucker's sister, Ashlee, died in the shooting.

Rucker has since been recovering in the hospital and released a handwritten note, where she recounts some of the details of the shooting.

"I can't think of anything," Rucker wrote. "I try to sleep a lot but I close my eyes and see his face or Ashlee's (body) laying on the floor."

Rucker also describes how she has had panic attacks since the shooting. According to her family, Rucker is expected to make a full recovery.

Absher is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend, Ashlee Rucker, and shooting her sister, Lisa Rucker.

According to Chad Absher's arrest warrant, he and Ashlee Rucker were arguing over car keys before the double shooting.

The warrant says the argument escalated into him choking her.

It states that a witness heard two gunshots a few seconds apart, saw Chad Absher with a rifle or shotgun and found both victims with gunshot wounds to the head.

Chad Absher is charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

His first court appearance Thursday was waived.
