Celebrities will play basketball to raise money for the 2,700 homeless students in Duval County. Action News Jax weekend anchor Erica Bennett will be cheerleader. There is a $5 entry fee.

Vestcor Bridges Run

Prime Osborn Convention Center over the Acosta Bridge | 7 p.m.

The Vestcor Family Foundation will hold its 22nd Annual Charity Run benefiting local non-profits. There is a $30 entry fee. The cost increases to $35 race day.

Car Show

Jacksonville Equestrian Center | 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Some of the car show classes included are best of truck/SUV, mini truck, import, domestic and more.

Pet CPR and First Aid Class

This ia a three-hour certification course how to prevent, recognize and treat common issues with your pets. This event is ideal for obedience trainers, pet sitters, groomers and pet owners.

Inside the Tower: The Open Championship

World Golf Hall of Fame | 1 p.m.

Experience a special behind-the-scenes presentation on all things related to The Open Championship. The presentation will be by historian Dr. Tony Parker. Participants can play the Old Course on the golf course simulator and take a photo with the Claret Jug.

25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Limelight Theatre in St. Augustine | 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday

This is a musical comedy about an eclectic group of six students who compete in the spelling championship of a lifetime.

Total Solar Eclipse Talk And Viewing Of The Sun

Bartram Trail Branch of the St. Johns County Public Library System | 1 – 2:30 p.m.

Elementary school-aged children up through adults are invited to a discussion about the upcoming total solar eclipse. There is also a special outdoor activity during which visitors can watch the Sun through safe filters and through a telescope.
