Local Winn Dixie and Harvey stores' closing date announced

Southeastern Grocers, the parent company of Winn-Dixie and Harvey's, said Thursday they will close 94 underperforming stores as part of a Chapter 11 pre-filing.

Action News Jax reached out to a spokesperson of the company asking when store closings will occur.

"All the stores affected by yesterday's announcement will be closed on or before April 30th," spokesman Joe Caldwell said.

There are about 20 Winn Dixie locations in the Jacksonville area and at least 2 Winn Dixie stores are expected to close.
