FHP: Woman, child killed in crash on I-95 near World Golf Village

The Florida Highway Patrol said a woman and a 4-year-old boy were killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 northbound near World Golf Village on Monday afternoon.

FHP said in a report that a gray Infinity SUV was traveling in the inside lane of I-95 NB when "the SUV veered right onto the east shoulder, struck a tree and overturned."

FHP said the driver of the SUV, 32-year-old Nazia Hossain of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, was killed. Four-year-old Ayaan Haque, also of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, was taken to UF Health, but has since died, according to the FHP report.

Two other adult female passengers were in the car, FHP said. One had minor injuries, one had serious injuries; both were taken to Orange Park Medical Center.

Traffic was backed up about 20 miles in both directions of I-95 near the World Golf Village on Monday after the crash.
