The Neptune Beach teen accused of killing his grandmother then fleeing the state appeared in court Friday.

Logan Mott, 15, waived his right to an extradition hearing and agreed to voluntarily return to Florida.

Logan Mott’s mother told reporters outside the courtroom: “Logan is a good kid with no previous history of anything, and he’s my son, and I love him. That’s all.”

Logan is accused of killing his grandmother Kristina French.

He was arrested Nov. 24 at the New York-Canada border after officials searched for him and his 53-year-old grandmother for several days.

French's body was found in a shallow grave in the backyard where Logan lived with his father, a veteran Jacksonville Sheriff's Office correctional officer.

Officials say she suffered gunshot and stab wounds.

Logan was stopped on the Peace Bridge after making a wrong turn. Officials recovered three guns and a knife with blood on it, according to prosecutors.

Logan's attorney says Florida authorities should be in Western New York Monday to bring him back to Florida.
