A teen is in critical condition after he was hit by a car on US 1 in St. Johns County on Tuesday, officials said.
The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office and Florida Highway Patrol was investigating after the 17-year-old was hit on US 1 at Pine Island Road.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the teen was skateboarding when he was hit by a yellow van that was driving southbound in the left lane.
The teen was skateboarding on the edge of the left lane, according to FHP.
The teen was flown to UF Health Jacksonville in critical condition, troopers said.
The driver of the van is in his mid-20s and charges are pending.
