Southern heritage rally held at Chaffee Road and I-10 overpass Sunday afternoon

Supporters met at the Chaffee Point Shopping Center before heading to the overpass.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A Southern heritage rally took place Sunday afternoon on Chaffee Road with supporters waving Confederate flags proudly as cars drove by.

The rally began with supporters gathering at the Chaffee Point Shopping Center. Dozens of people then made their way to the Chaffee Road overpass above I-10 and then proudly waved Confederate flags in support of their Southern heritage.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Officers were on the scene but would not disclose why they were there.

Southern heritage rallies have been happening all over the country in recent weeks. There were no reports of hostile behavior from supporters or drivers.
