JSO: Man arrested after SWAT callout, shooting in Jacksonville

An arrest has been made after a SWAT callout and shooting SWAT callout and shooting in Jacksonville on Friday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Joshua Wright, 38, is charged after they say he shot a woman he knew in the head.

Officers said they were called to Cedar Point Road for a crash shortly after 6 a.m.

They found a woman with a gunshot wound inside a car. She was taken to UF Health Jacksonville and is being treated.

Officers learned there was a dispute at a home down the road. Officers got two elderly people out of the home and a SWAT team was called to negotiate with two other people inside the home.

They refused to communicate with investigators for several hours.

They came out of the house at approximately 10:15 a.m.

Officers took the two people into custody and are questioning them about the shooting.

Eastbound lanes in the 7000 block of Cedar Point Road were closed as JSO cleared the area.
