Jacksonville teen arrested for alleged sexual battery during church member gathering

An 18-year-old has been arrested for sexual battery, and court records show it’s connected to an assault during a gathering with church members.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested Brandon Guinto Wednesday for sexual battery. He was taken in to custody without incident at Paxon High School.

There are no other details about the nature of the arrest in the police report, but court records show Guinto is also the subject of a pending domestic violence case, and that a temporary injunction for protection has been issued against him.

The petition for sexual violence injunction in that case shows that a woman reported the victim was attacked by Guinto. The woman told investigators that they were at Guinto’s house with their church, and children were upstairs watching a movie. At one point, Guinto allegedly got naked and started inappropriately touching the victim, including trying to pry her legs open while the victim told him to stop. The petition says Guinto stopped when he heard someone coming back upstairs.

The petition says there is an open criminal investigation connected to these allegations, and the case number supplied by the complainant is the same one listed on Guinto’s arrest report.

A hearing on the temporary injunction for protection has been set for April 6th. Guinto’s arraignment on the criminal charge has been scheduled for April 20th.
