Teen charged with bringing gun to First Coast High

First Coast High School

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 17-year-old faces charges after being accused of bringing a gun to First Coast High School.

On Jan. 25, the principal told a Jacksonville police officer that Brett Jones had a firearm in a classroom.

The student was checked and found a gun in his pants' waistband, JSO said.

Jones is charged with possession of a firearm on campus.

The gun was not reported stolen. Jones' father told officers the gun was his.

On Wednesday, three weapons were found at three different Jacksonville schools: First Coast High, Chaffee Trail Elementary and Ed White High. Two students were also arrested on Jan. 26 at First Coast High after they were found to be in possession of a stun gun.
