JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A reported lapse in communication left families at an apartment complex living near mountains of garbage.
Action News went back to the complex for answers on Friday, and trucks were hauling off the trash.
We've been investigating a massive trash mess for two days at the Villages of Baymeadows.
We were there as the trucks started rolling in. We were kicked out before we could ask the management company any important questions.
Management made it very clear they didn't want us around.
We stood outside their entrance following up with neighbors about their garbage problem.
"It's bringing so much disgust," said Nathan Flores.
"We're seeing things get picked up and we're seeing the trash being collected," said neighbor Jerrie.

On Thursday, we saw three different garbage compactors overflowing with trash. After we started asking questions, we saw some progress.
A resident living in the complex gave us a copy of the lease. It says garbage removal costs $25. He also gave us a bill for the month of November. It's on there, $25 out of his pocket, just like it was in October.
But the garbage just sat there. We never got to ask management where their money went, but we did find out the trash services stopped because the complex didn't pay for garbage removal.
The garbage company said there was miscommunication between the local office and corporate.
"That's disappointing. They take our money for this and they aren't responsible enough to pay their own bills," Flores said.
We learned that debt was just settled and these trucks should have everything hauled off by the end of the day.
We also learned the city issued a warning Friday and will fine the complex just up to $1,275 if the trash isn't gone on Monday.
Friday, the cleanup started and we're told all this trash should be gone by the end of the day.
Action News will check in with the city on Monday to make sure all of the over-flowing garbage at Villages of Baymeadows is gone.
