A 19-year-old man died Saturday in a motorcycle crash on I-10 in Riverside Jacksonville.
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol went to the crash site in the westbound lanes near the Stockton Street exit. at 5:05 p.m.
The Suzuki sport bike rider, Michael J. Vecchio, was traveling westbound and approaching the exit ramp to U.S. 17 when he lost control and struck the center concrete median barrier.
Veccchio then collided with a light pole and was flung off the bike and to the ground. Vecchio was taken to UF Health, where he was pronounced dead.
Three westbound lanes were blocked near Stockton Street and I-10 after the accident and have since been reopened.
