Video: Burglar bars stop thief from robbing Jacksonville gun store

Officers are asking for the public's help in identifying someone who tried to rob a Jacksonville gun store.

Video shows the person put a shirt over their face before trying to rob Gun Gallery on Beach Boulevard March 29.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was called to the gun store in the early morning hours after an alarm went off.

When police got there, they found the front glass door broken.

They searched the business and found nothing was taken.

Burglar bars on the front door blocked the attempted thief from getting inside the business, JSO said.

JSO is asking anyone with information about the attempted robber to call 904-630-0500 or email JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org.

Attempted Burglary – Gun Gallery - PLEASE SHARE On Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in the early morning hours police responded to Gun Gallery located at 10268 Beach Boulevard in reference to an alarm. When police arrived they found the front glass door broken. The business was searched and found to be secure and nothing taken. Burglar bars were locked on the front door preventing anyone from making entry into the business.
