ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. — Multiple agencies continue to search for a missing Gainesville woman on Tuesday in Alachua County.
The search for the remains of Hannah Brim, 23, began last week. Authorities said last week evidence has lead them to believe she has died.
Authorities searched the area of Orange Heights for her body. The search efforts have expanded to areas of the northwest portion of the county as a result of electronic forensic information obtained through the course of the investigation.
The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and the Gainesville Police Department are being assisted by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Corrections, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Union County Sheriff’s Office, Alachua County Emergency Operations Center and the Medical Examiner’s Office. ACSO said cadaver dogs from the Miami-Dade Police Department, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Corrections are being utilized in this operation.
Authorities served an additional search warrant Tuesday morning at the home of Nelson Armas.
Armas is believed to be the last person to have seen Brim prior to her being reported missing.
Armas is currently in the ACSO Department of the Jail on unrelated charges.
