WAVERLY, Tenn. — The son of country music star Craig Morgan and his wife, Karen, remains missing Monday after the teen collided with a friend on Sunday while floating on an inner tube near Kentucky Lake in Tennessee.

Jerry Greer, 19, was wearing a life jacket while tubing on the Tennessee River when he collided with another tuber and fell into the water, WTVF reported. Both Greer and the other tuber were wearing life jackets at the time of the collision. The unidentified tuber was not seriously hurt, according to WKRN.

Greer did not surface.

Multiple agencies were in the area Monday searching a 5- to 10-acre area for any sign of the missing teen, WKRN reported.

"It is a big area that we're looking at, so we're going to try and review the statements that we have from our eyewitnesses and narrow that down today," Matt Majors, boating accident investigator with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, told WSMV.

Morgan and his wife have four children, including Greer. The family lives in Dickson.

"Recovery efforts to locate him are underway," the family said in a statement released to WSMV. "The family is grateful for everyone's support and prayers and request(s) privacy during this difficult time."

Morgan, a U.S. Army veteran, started his music career in 2000. He's had commercial success with hits including "That's What I Love About Sunday," "Love Remembers" and "Almost Home."
