Bre-Z talks about female rapper role on 'Empire'

"Empire" introduced a new character in Season 2 -- female rapper Freda Gatz. Freda is the daughter of drug lord

Frank Gatson, who was murdered by main character Lucious Lyon in jail.

Freda met Lucious while visiting her father in jail, and later signed to Empire Entertainment.

Bre-Z, who plays Freda, recently spoke about how she ended up on the hit FOX TV show.

“I went in for the audition. I didn’t have a script. I didn’t have anything," she said. "I just felt like once we got to the music, we’ll nail that and we’ll figure everything else out.”

Bre-Z also spoke about her experience with the cast, specifically Terrence Howard.

“Working with Terrance is amazing. I learn so much,” she said.
