After a heated meeting Thursday night with the Julington Creek Plantation Development District, the board decided to terminate Elite Management’s contract.
They will be given 30 days’ notice and a new company will start before Elite leaves.
Action News Jax started investigating Julington Creek Plantation after 6 pools were shut down in August and then an investigation report surfaced detailing a list of complaints against the general manager of Julington Creek Plantation Community Development District.
Several people who live in the neighborhood pointed fingers at Elite Management for causing problems.
“My position is to get rid of Elite; this is not the way things should be run,” a resident said.
Problems were cited to the board that include the pool’s conditions, not enough lifeguards on duty and poor customer service.
“I’m still upset about the conditions of the pools. We were not told about no chlorine and that could be disastrous,” a resident said to the board.
District Manager Craig Wrathell said there are extreme levels of concern when it comes to the management and the dirty pools.
“I think they are nice people, but I don’t think for the client of this size they are capable to successfully serve this district long term,” Wrathell said.
