Troopers say the teen's father is still in critical condition after the accident at I-295 and I-10 on Wednesday.

Officials said the two were not wearing seat belts in their 1982 Chevy pickup truck when Jimmy House lost control of the truck.

Officials said they do not know why he drove over a median and crossed into the northbound lanes of Interstate 295 near the Interstate 10 eastbound exit ramp.

A Dodge van and Durango hit the truck and someone inside the truck was ejected, officials said.

The driver of the van was taken to Orange Park Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the Durango was not injured, officials said.

The road was shut down for four hours.

Officials are awaiting toxicology reports to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
