3 hurt after lightning strikes Jacksonville home

UPDATE: Men hurt by lightning strike in Mandarin recovering

A roofer who was stuck by lightning on Thursday is in critical condition, authorities said.

Two other workers were also hurt when the lightning bolt struck a home on Marilyn Anne Drive.

Police said the men were on top of the home when storms rolled through. Lightning struck one man, leaving him with severe burns.

Another man fell from the roof and a third man had minor burns. A fourth man who was on the roof was not hurt.

Neighbors saw the storms coming in, but didn't expect this to happen.

"It looked like the darkest, blackest cloud I've ever seen. But I could look over here, nice and clear. Nice and clear. Over there, a little bit cloudy, but that's nothing unusual, that's just normal Florida," neighbor Hope Combs said.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration went to the scene and are now investigating.
