5 arrested may be responsible for at least 20 car break-ins

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — The Clay County Sheriff's Office believes it caught five suspects from Jacksonville who may be responsible for at least 20 car break-ins.

Deputies believe the five are connected to at least 20 auto burglaries that occurred last weekend in the same Argyle/Oakleaf area of Clay County.

Deputies responded to a reported auto burglary around 10:40 p.m. Thursday on Waterford Oaks Drive in Oakleaf.

The description of the silver Volvo SUV matched that of a car seen at other reported burglaries, CCSO said.

Deputies spotted the vehicle in the area of Plantation Oaks Boulevard and Oakleaf Village Parkway. The suspects attempted to drive away but crashed into a parked car on Millstone Lane.

Deputies chased the five suspects, and they were quickly arrested. Action News Jax learned four of the five are juveniles.

The SUV was reported stolen from Jacksonville.
