A Clay County District Schools bus driver involved in a three-bus crash in Middleburg on Monday afternoon has been suspended.
Investigators called it a chain-reaction crash. The school district said 90 students from Wilkinson Junior High School were on the three buses and 23 were injured.
Bus driver Lisa Spinek was cited for careless driving, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Because of that, Clay County Schools has suspended Spinek while they investigate.
The FHP crash report said Spinek failed to stop at a stop light and caused the crash. In a newly released 911 call, a witness described seeing a bus speeding before the wreck.
