Neighbors say they can’t believe he’s gone.

“It’s kind of shocking,” Linda Holfinger said. “I know he’s an older gentleman but it’s shocking to hear this because I just saw him. I just talked to him less than 24 hours ago.”

She tells me Glover was having someone work on his car.

“He was having someone help him with his car to make sure it was running,” said Holfinger.

Action News Jax asked JTA about the hours the driver involved had worked so far this week.

A spokesperson said according to a Florida Statue, bus drivers can't drive more than 72 hours in a seven-day period.

JTA said the bus driver had only driven a little more than 15 hours this week.

JTA also sent Action News Jax a statement:

JTA is saddened about the loss of life resulting from an early morning accident in downtown Jacksonville involving a JTA bus and an automobile. We extend our sincere sympathies to the automobile driver's family.

The accident is still under investigation and we are fully cooperating with JSO.

The JTA bus operator suffered minor injuries and was released from the hospital this morning. Sylvia Shorts has been a driver with JTA since October 30, 2003.

JSO said the crash is still under investigation.
