Family and friends remember Somer Thompson ten years later

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Family and community members gathered Sunday at Somer's Garden to remember Somer Thompson, the little girl who disappeared on her way home from school ten years ago.

Her killer, Jarred Harrell, pleaded guilty to killing the 7-year-old and will spend the rest of his life in prison without possibility of parole. He was given 6 life sentences.

Somer's Garden is a community garden that grows on the land where Thompson's killer's home used to stand.

The house was burned down during a fire training exercise in 2015.
