Family mourning and raising funeral costs after teen dies in car crash

Autumn Branham

A family is mourning the loss of 16-year-old Autumn Branham after she was killed in a car crash on I-10 near U.S. 301 Tuesday night.

"She was amazing and not just because she was my daughter. She touched everyone's life for the good," the teen's mother Chauna Branham said.

Autumn was killed when her car crossed over the median and into oncoming traffic.

"My last text message to her was at 6:30 and she said, 'I love you' and I said, 'I love you more'," Branham said.

Her mother said Autumn dreamed of becoming a cosmetologist. "From when she was 3 years old, she tore into every hair product, mascara and lipstick she could," Branham said.

She said her daughter was selfless and always looked out for others. "She would eat half a meal and give the other half to a homeless (person)," Branham said.

And Autumn has left a lasting impression on her community and in the hearts of family and friends, according to her mother.
